Abstract

The efficiency of a water pump machine is an important parameter to analyze because it can affect a household's electricity consumption. This research was conducted to determine the maximum efficiency that can be achieved by a water pump machine at various pressures. This study also aims to determine the efficiency of the water pump with variations in the angle of the inlet pipe and the diameter of the delivery valve. The pipe on the water pump used is 3/4 inch and 1 inch. The experimental results and regression analysis showed that the diameter of the delivery valve has a greater effect on pump efficiency than the angle of the inlet pipe. This research was conducted on a semi jet pump wasser type water pump machine with Type PW-251 EA. In this study, testing the speed of filling the reservoir water has been carried out, while the measurement results parameters recorded include voltage, current, power, and water flow rate. These data are used to determine the power and energy used in the water pump obtained by calculation. Based on the analysis, the results show that when using a 14μf capacitor with a 1-inch pipe size, the power consumption is 19 kWh per month, while using a 16μf capacitor with a 1-inch pipe size, the electric power consumption is 16 kWh per month.
