Abstract
The problems in this final project research are what are the causes of oil spills during bunker activities, what are the impacts of oil spills during bunker activities, what are the crew's efforts to minimize the occurrence of oil spills on the wharf during bunker activities. The purpose of this research is to find out the causes of oil spills, the impacts of oil spills and efforts to minimize the occurrence of oil spills at the wharves. This research was conducted for 2 months from May to July at the Kuala Tanjung branch of the shipping company PT Usda Seroja Jaya. The method used is a qualitative method, in this case the authors collect data using collection methods including observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of this study indicate several causes for the occurrence of oil spills such as human error and the condition of equipment that has been damaged, resulting in impacts that can damage the ecosystem and have the potential to be sanctioned and punished. Efforts were made to minimize the occurrence of oil spills by following bunker procedures according to MARPOL, checking SOPEP and conducting safety meetings by ship officers as well as the company's role in implementing bunker activities
