Abstract
This study aims to determine the application of occupational safety and health (K3) in the loading and unloading process of PT Tanayu Bahtera Segara oil. The formulation of the problem includes How to implement safety management carried out by the Dumai port B port authority to improve occupational safety and health (K3) in the oil loading and unloading process, What are the obstacles when applying safety management to occupational safety and health (K3) in the oil loading and unloading process, The location of this research was conducted at PT Tanayu Bahtera Segara and B Dumai dock, which was carried out from February to July 2023. The method used was a qualitative descriptive method, and the method of collecting observation, interview and documentation data. The results of the study show that the application of safety management to the safety of loading and unloading workers at Dumai B dock has not been carried out properly. And in the field there are many violations of the implementation of safety management carried out by the workforce. If violations occur, work procedures need to be improved so that the safety of workers loading and unloading oil is guaranteed. The obstacles encountered when implementing safety management at the B Dumai port are the lack of supervision by the head of work and the port authority, the lack of knowledge of workers on the importance of safety management, and the lack of awareness of workers on the importance of safety management, as well as the discomfort of workers when using PPE, and one of them minimal supply of PPE.
