Abstract

The use and need for laser engravers is currently increasing, including for production and practicum activities in vocational schools and technical universities in Indonesia. However, the price of laser engraver machines on the market is still quite high. Therefore, it is necessary to take steps to find solutions to overcome this by making a laser engraver machine that is specialized for practicum purposes at an affordable price. The laser engraver machine uses an Arduino Uno R3 microcontroller as the main controller, with two stepper motors as actuators to move the x-axis and y-axis and laser diodes to engraver objects controlled by relays. From the results of testing the laser engraver machine parameters and used as standard parameters. With the ideal distance of the laser at a height of 75 mm, the ideal speed of laser motion is 300 mm/min and the engraving area is 35 mm × 38 mm. After testing the whole 20 times, the results of the image according to the input from the software and the performance of the tool 100% as desired and the cost required to engraver 4 images is Rp 1.9 to Rp 4.47.
