Abstract
The Meranti Islands Regency PMD Service in setting target indicators one of which is the Percentage of Active Village Institutions where the village institution in question is the role of BUM DESA. BUM Desa in the Meranti Archipelago Has not gone well, where there are 41 villages that have formed BUM Desa from the 96 existing villages. This researcher took the object of Optimizing the development of BUMDesawhich was carried out by the PMD Service of the Meranti Islands Regency. The results showed that theCommunity and Village Empowerment Service of the Meranti Islands Regency had an adequate role in helping the development of the welfare of the Merbau District, Meranti Islands Regency through its program in optimizing BUMDesa, namely by providing training and coaching to BUMDesaadministrators in Merbau District. This training and coaching will certainly be a provision for the community and Village Government as well as BUMDesamanagement to manage Village potential in Merbau District so that it can be maximized.
