Abstract

Rice is a staple food for the majority of Indonesian people. This is supported by the development of the agricultural sector which continues to increase. However, as rice yields increase, there are several factors that influence the decline in rice yields caused by pests and diseases. Therefore, farmers must pay more attention to maintaining the development of rice so that it is always protected from pests or diseases. One way to prevent this is by using pesticides. It is important to pay attention to the various types of pesticides which are almost the same, causing the wrong choice of pesticides for pests and diseases that attack. This research aims to produce a decision support system for selecting pesticides specifically for rice plants. The data processed is in the form of criteria aspects of rice such as leaves, stems, grain and roots, alternatives and other supporting data. Next, the data will be processed using the profile matching method. Profile matching is a mechanism for making decisions that assumes that there is an ideal level of predictor variables that must be met by the subject under study, not a minimum level that must be met or exceeded. This method will provide a decision by assuming that there is a target value that must be met or exceeded. The processing stage is to find the difference value between the criteria and the ideal profile of each sub-criteria until it reaches the final value. Next, it will match the final value with the value of each alternative. The results of testing this method produce recommendations for alternatives or pesticides ranked in the top five out of fifty existing alternatives. Meanwhile, the accuracy results from field data testing were 0.846.
