Abstract

The selection of thesis titles is a particular difficulty for some students. Selection of the title requires several considerations so that later students are not mistaken in choosing. Decision Support System (DSS) is a computer-based system that can assist in making decisions by utilizing data obtained by processing existing criteria. The purpose of this study is to design a Decision Support System for selecting student thesis titles, and later to be able to provide value for each proposed thesis title. The output of this system is in the form of a ranking of several thesis titles entered by students, each title will have its own criteria, and will also be filled in by students. Next, the system will sort the titles into rank 1 and so on. The experiment that has been carried out is to rank as many as 10 titles and produce the first rank, namely the "J8" alternative with the title "Development of Data Mining Software for Exploring Association Rules Using the Apriori Method" with a final score of 0.91875. The method used is Simple Additive Weighting, as well as analysis and design tools using the Unified Modeling Language (UML). As for the implementation, some software is used, including using the Laravel framework, code editor, PHP programming language.
