Abstract

The rapid development of technology has brought significant impacts to various aspects of life. One field that has seen advancements is automation, where automated systems are developed to simplify human tasks. Smart homes have become increasingly popular of automation application. In a smart home, users can control various electronic devices automatically or through voice commands. However, the development of voice-controlled smart homes faces several challenges. To address these issues, this research aims to design and build a Voice Recognition V3-based smart home using Arduino Uno. This approach involves integrating components such as a Microphone, Voice Recognition V3 module, Arduino Uno, a 4-channel relay, and 2 junction boxes. The automation system is designed to recognize user voice commands and control electronic devices like lights, fans, and phone chargers. The research results show a user voice recording accuracy rate of 53.33 % and an accuracy rate of 96.67 % for user voices from distances of 10 – 30 cm. At distances of 60 - 210 cm, the device is able to recognize user voices with an accuracy rate of 50 %.
