Abstract
KMP Ro-Ro Vessel. Permata Lestari I is a type of ship (Ro – Ro Passanger Ship) belonging to the Directorate General of Transportation. KMP ship. Permata Lestari 1 consists of 2 main decks, namely the car deck and the passenger deck II (navigation deck). Where in the car deck there have been several deformations and cracks which could potentially lead to accidents on the passengers and the ship. In the strength analysis of the car deck carried out, the authors used the finite element method and assisted by software based on the finite element method (FEM) / finite element analysis (FEA). loading on the car deck with Truck vehicle loads obtained a maximum stress value of 104.47 MPa and a minimum stress obtained of 0.012005 MPa, on the car deck with Truck, Pick Up and Mpv vehicle loads obtained a maximum stress value of 82.475 MPa, and minimum stress obtained 0.0094777 MPa, The safety factor value obtained from the results of the strength analysis of the car deck construction using ansys software where the three models of the type of load on the car deck are declared to meet the requirements in accordance with BKI rules (Indonesian classification bureau), with a truck load value of 2.24 N/mm2, on the car decks loaded with trucks, pick-ups and Mpv 2.84 N/mm2, on car decks without vehicle loads was 41.80 N/mm2
