Abstract
Language is used as a very important means of communication for humans. In order to establish good communication, those who communicate must understand the language that will be conveyed by the interlocutor. Indonesian comes from the Malay language, Malay is a unifying language as well as a trade language (lingua franca) in the Southeast Asian region since the 7th century AD. easy to understand and understand because there are no different levels of use. In Bengkalis, most of the people use the Malay language, especially from the Bengkalis people themselves. Therefore, researchers want to preserve the Bengkalis Malay language so that it is not displaced by languages that enter the Bengkalis area. Based on the problems obtained, a study will be carried out to design the Indonesian-Malay Dictionary software with the Android-based binary search method. The development method used for system development is the Relational Unified Process (RUP) method. This method was chosen because this method uses a disciplined approach in carrying out its duties and responsibilities in an organization. The results of the application speed level The average search using 1 word is 1,041 ms, and the search test using 2 words is 1.95 ms
