Abstract

The use of alternative energy and renewable energy is the best choice to meet the needs of electrical energy. This is because petroleum energy is expensive and scarce, which has always been the main choice for electrical energy generation systems. To generate electrical energy from existing alternative energy, a generator is needed for the process of generating electrical energy. This generator is of the type of 1-phase low speed permanent magnet generator external rotor type radial flux. Using 24 type N52 neodymium magnets with dimensions of 20 mm x 10 mm x 5 mm, designed at a speed of 250 RPM with a resulting voltage of 44 V. Test results of the generator when loaded with a 3 watt lamp at a speed of 500 RPM can produce an output voltage of 44.4 V, a current of 53.6 mA. When a 5 watt lamp is loaded, the generator at a speed of 500 RPM can produce an output voltage of 43.6 V, a current of 0.2 mA. At a light load of 7 watts at a speed of 500 RPM it produces an output voltage of 44.3 V, a current of 0.1 mA.
