Abstract
The high level of economic needs of the people of Batang Serai village has increased the need for river transportation. However, this need is not supported by improving facilities for the fleet. Currently, the condition of ships operating at the Sundari Belawan pier still has many shortcomings, especially in terms of safety and comfort. Seeing the current condition of the ship, changes or improvements are needed to the current passenger ship design. These changes include the design of the hull, which changes the shape of the hull by considering the amount of ship resistance that is directly related to engine power. Then changes in the design of the accommodation room, adding safety equipment, increasing passenger capacity, and making the ship's travel time shorter than the previous ship. With a capacity of 32 people and 3 crew members so that the main data of the ship are obtained namely LOA = 18.22 m, LWL = 16.18 m, B = 4.93 m, H = 2.38 m.
