Abstract

The objective of this research is to examine the effect of Eco Diesel on the power and torque of a 2GD Common Rail diesel engine. This research model includes the fundamental theory of diesel engine power and torque as well as the operational principles of the Common Rail system. The research method employed is experimental with a quantitative approach, utilizing a dynotest to measure the engine's power and torque output. Data from various Eco Diesel blend experiments were collected and statistically analyzed using Minitab software. The study demonstrates that Eco Diesel improves fuel efficiency, reduces emissions, and delivers power and torque comparable to conventional diesel fuel. The test results indicate that Dexlite blended with Eco Diesel achieves a power increase of 3.88% and a torque increase of 10.29% at 2100 RPM, and at 3400 RPM, the power and torque both increased by 4.69%. These findings suggest that Eco Diesel significantly impacts the torque and power of the 2GD Common Rail diesel engine.
