Abstract

this test aims to determine the impact test results of several brands of electrodes with SMAW welding on ASTM A36 steel. The specifications for the electrodes used are e6013 for filler and capping and e7016 for root. The current used is in accordance with the guidelines contained in the packaging. The basic material used is ASTM A36 steel with dimensions of 10mm thick, 20mm long and 25mm wide. The type of seam used is single bevel seam with an angle of 30 degrees. From the impact test results, the value for electrode A is 0.8593333333 J/mm², electrode B is 0.6396 J/mm² and electrode C is 1,071966667 J/mm². The lower the impact value obtained, the more resilient the fracture that occurs in the specimen
