Abstract

The problems raised in this Final Project is related to the lack of self-awareness in the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) by Stevedores at the Pangkalan Susu port, as well as the insufficient supervision regarding the use of PPE The main objective of this research is to maximize the company's role in implementing occupational safety and health for stevedores handling coal at the Pangkalan Susu port The research methods include observation, interviews, and documentation to obtain accurate and relevant data Data analysis is conducted descriptively qualitatively using the Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment (HIRA) method The research findings indicate that awareness of PPE usage among stevedores is still low, due to a lack of socialization and supervision from the company. Furthermore, it has been found that the implementation of occupational health and safety standards by PT Adhi Guna Putera is in accordance with the law, but compliance in the field still needs improvement The recommendation of this study is to enhance supervision and provide regular training on the importance of using personal protective equipment to minimize the risk of workplace accidents
