Abstract

Corrosion of steel structures can cause a significant decrease in structural strength and sustainability. Therefore, to extend the service life and improve the performance of light steel structures, effective repair and strengthening methods are needed. Examples of buildings located in coastal areas such as reinforced concrete concrete beams. Currently, along with the progress of the times, the world of construction also continues to develop, one of which is by developing materials that can cover the weaknesses of the concrete, one of which is the presence of Fiber Reinforced Polymer (FRP) material. In this study, the author used Carbon sheet FRP with beam dimensions of 1.3 m × 0.25 m × 0.15 m totaling 3 beams. 1 for control beam, 1 corroded beam, and 1 for corroded beam that has been reinforced using Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymer (CFRP).
