Abstract
Waste management in restaurants is often a complex problem. Trash cans that are full and not monitored can cause unpleasant odors, pollute the environment and disturb the comfort of visitors. This research aims to design and build a microcontroller-based monitoring system for the weight of trash cans in restaurants. This system uses a Load Cell sensor to measure the weight of the waste in the bin and a microcontroller to process and send data to the LCD, LED and Buzzer. Waste weight data is displayed on the LCD. Testing the weight of the waste 10 times at a set point of 3.5 Kg got maximum results, namely 100%.
