Abstract
In this final project, the author discusses Non-Destructive Test (NDT) about the design and manufacture of tools that can be used to test welding results that are quite cheap and quite accurate results. This tool can detect the presence of welding defects in the form of holes or cracks with the vacuum method. This tool consists of several parts, namely a vacuum pump, inside corner box, vacuum gauge, stop valve, naple, and other components. By using this tool, the position of the leak or crack is detected by the appearance of air bubbles that appear in the welding groove when a vacuum test is carried out. The working suction power carried out with this tool is in accordance with BKI standards around -0.2 `bar. With this pressure, it can be seen if there is a leak or crack in the welding joint for plate material at a 90 degrees angle welding joint.
