Abstract

Based on general observations, many construction workers exert all their physical effort without the support of advanced technology to aid their tasks. One common process encountered in projects performed by workers is the conventional sand sieving process. This study aims to design and build a sand sieving machine based on Arduino Uno, equipped with speed control to minimize operator effort and achieve more efficient use of time in obtaining the desired sand quality. The sand sieving system utilizes Arduino Uno R3 as the main control unit. Speed control of the motor is achieved using Dimmer SCR Zero-Cross technology. Additionally, the system includes a stable power supply and 12-volt and 5-volt DC motors as part of the mechanism for changing between coarse and fine sieves. The methods used in this study include designing the speed controller with PID and testing the machine's performance at full and half-speed sieving. Test results show that this sand sieving machine can regulate speed accurately and effectively, providing better efficiency in the sand sieving process.
