Abstract
The process of building a fishing boat with FRP construction is only made with the initial capital of a mold or mold to form the fishing boat. Mold making usually uses FRP material that has a certain thickness and tensile strength, such as using CSM 600 or can also be made with wood and plywood. Fishery resources can be seen as a component of the fisheries ecosystem that acts as a factor of production and is needed to produce an output that has economic value both now and in the future.This study discusses the technical and economic calculations for the construction of a 3gt fishing boat with the hand lay up method with the aim of knowing the investment costs, expenses per trip, fishermen's income per year, and knowing the payback period of the investment. In carrying out this research, several stages were carried out, namely, calculating the cost of building a ship and then determining the fixed and variable costs so that income was known and then calculating the profitability and payback period.
