Abstract

As a construction material, concrete is the main choice used in various civil building constructions, especially as a structural element. This is because the concrete is easy to obtain and the process is relatively easy. One of the weaknesses of concrete is the increase in volume of the concrete which is directly in contact with the soil and seawater. For this reason, it is necessary to research concrete in contact with seawater, so that in this study a compressive strength test of concrete was carried out using a cylinder sample with a size of 15 cm x 30 cm which was immersed in fresh water, salt water and concrete without immersion. By using the SNI 7656:2012 method, it is known that the compressive strength of the cylindrical concrete immersed in salt water at the age of 7 days is; 12.73 MPa, at the age of 14 days 13.39 MPa, at the age of 21 days 13.49 MPa, and at the age of 28 days 19.72 MPa. The value of the compressive strength of cylindrical concrete at 7 days of fresh water immersion is; 22.35 MPa, age 14 days 21.31 MPa, age 21 days 23.11 MPa, and at age 28 days 17.07 MPa. The value of the compressive strength of cylindrical concrete without immersion at the age of 7 days is; 21.31 Mpa, at the age of 14 days 19.81 Mpa, at the age of 21 days 24.33 Mpa, and at the age of 28 days experiencing a compressive strength value of 24.90 Mpa, so that there has been an increase in the strength of concrete at the age of 7, 14 to 28 days after placement
