Abstract
Water quality is an important aspect in maintaining the sustainability of aquatic ecosystems and human health. In Wonosari Village, fishing spots managed by Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDES) face significant challenges in monitoring water quality. In addition, the community has difficulty in determining the right time to change the water in the fishing pond, which often results in fish deaths due to water pH that does not match the needs of the fish and the conditions around the pond. To overcome this problem, this final project aims to develop an effective water quality monitoring system using Internet of Things (IoT) technology. This system utilizes pH sensors and NodeMCU ESP8266 microcontrollers to monitor water pH quality in real-time. Data measured by the pH sensor will be sent to a database and displayed via a website that can be accessed online. With this system, users can monitor water pH quality remotely and determine when is the right time to change the water in the fishing pond based on the pH measurement results obtained. The research methods include literature studies on pH sensor technology and NodeMCU, monitoring system design, hardware implementation, and system testing in real conditions. The result of this project is a well-functioning monitoring system, allowing online monitoring of water pH quality. The developed website successfully displays water pH data accurately and in real-time. With the implementation of this system, water quality management at fishing spots can be done more efficiently, helping BUMDES Wonosari Village in maintaining water quality and supporting the sustainability of aquatic ecosystems in the area.
