Abstract

Electrical cables are generally known to the public on poles inside the house. However, some of the cables themselves are installed underground. Such as underground cables used in grounding systems, underground cables used in city park installation systems and others. The existence of underground cables is difficult for the general public to know, except for bureaus or people who install the cables or people who know the existence of these cables, so that sometimes they are susceptible to damage by breaking the cables due to being hit by heavy equipment or other public works. Especially the existence of ground cables in industrial land. For this reason, it is necessary to have an underground electrical cable detection device that uses the principle of magnetic induction between the current flowing in the electrical cable and provides an indicator as a marker when the device detects electric current. The device's voltage source is obtained from a 9 V battery. The device works due to magnetic induction from outside the device entering through the clock pin on IC 4017 and leaving output 3 which is connected to the base of the NPN BC 547 transistor. If the base is active then current flows from the collector to the emitter so that buzzer on.
