Abstract
The implementation of optimizing the maintenance of safety equipment to support the safety of the KN crew. RUPAT. The method used in this study is data collection by means of observation or direct observation of everything on the KN.KRUPAT ship and analyzing problems that occur directly in ongoing activities so that what is obtained is objective. Based on the results of the research that has been done, several conclusions can be drawn that the things that cause the safety equipment to not function optimally when used in training at the KN. RUPAT is caused by a lack of understanding of the real treatment procedures. The correct safety equipment is in accordance with the safety equipment maintenance regulations according to Solas (Safety Of Life Sea at) and due to the lack of safety equipment maintenance equipment facilities provided by the company so that maintenance activities are not maximized. Safety equipment maintenance methods, because the safety equipment maintenance method is the basis for increasing efficiency in optimizing the activities of safety equipment on the ship so that the safety equipment can be used optimally by all crew members in the event of an emergency on the ship.
