Abstract
The problem in my final project research is related to the safety of loading and unloading at PT. Gesuri Lloyd Kuala Tanjung Branch. The purpose of this study was to determine worker awareness of loading and unloading work safety. To find out the barriers to worker awareness at the time of loading and unloading. The method used in this research is data analysis by means of questionnaires or questionnaires to workers. Awareness of workers to use personal protective equipment for safety when loading and unloading is very important. Occupational safety and health (K3) for loading and unloading workers (TKBM) is a determining factor for the smoothness and productivity of loading and unloading goods at the port. Work safety is one of the absolute factors that must be met so that workers can work safely and can work optimally. The use of PPE during the loading and unloading work process is necessary before loading and unloading activities. Barriers to worker awareness at the time of loading and unloading are caused by several factors including humans, equipment, rules and the environment. From the results of the sum of the questionnaires and data analysis using descriptive methods of worker awareness of loading and unloading safety at PT. Gesuri Lloyd's Kuala Tanjung Branch shows the results of 67.77% who know the importance of personal protective equipment (PPE) during the loading and unloading process. Suggestions for PT. Gesuri Lloyd Kuala Tanjung Branch should continuously pay attention to the occupational safety and health of loading and unloading equipment operator workers in order to improve performance to achieve maximum results and as well as continuously monitor the use of personal protective equipment in order to improve the performance of loading and unloading equipment operator workers.
