Abstract
In planting corn, there are things that need to be considered, namely the level of acidity (pH) of the soil and soil moisture which is very influential in the quality of the corn crop. Each area has a different type of soil, this type of soil has a different level of acidity (pH) quality so that planting corn will be successful if it is in accordance with the quality of the soil pH. For planting corn, good soil pH has a range between 5.0-7.0 which means the soil is neutral, pH <5.0 has an acidic condition, and >7.0 pH is in an alkaline state. If the pH is not suitable, it will reduce the quality of the corn crop yields. Soil moisture is used as a reference whether the soil needs to be watered or not. When measuring pH is done manually, IoT technology is needed combined with the mqtt (Massage Queeing Telemetry Transfer) protocol with a specialization in sending low-power data that is suitable for supporting IoT equipment and sending data based on user requests to see soil acidity conditions. Then a system is proposed that can determine the level of soil acidity in corn plants automatically by utilizing IoT technology and the mqtt protocol that can make it easier to determine the level of soil acidity in corn plants. In this study, testing was carried out in 3 different corn plantations on the island of Bengkalis. The data obtained is sensor data for soil acidity and soil moisture, the value of which will be entered into the mqttx client broker and database based on subscriber requests. The data is then displayed on the website that has been built. The test results from 3 different plantations showed that the soil acidity level had acid and neutral levels and the soil moisture was quite normal.
