Abstract

Electrical energy is one of the needs of modern society is very important and vital. The absence of electrical energy will greatly disrupt the continuity of human activities. Therefore the continuity and availability of electrical energy needs to be maintained. For people living in urban and surrounding areas, electrical energy is not a problem. Because the electrical energy provided by the State Electricity Company (PLN) has been available in the area. But for people living in remote areas and remote islands, electrical energy is a big problem. Because PLN electricity network has not reached in the area. The right solution to deal with the lack of electrical energy in the area is to convert the abundant sunlight into electrical energy using photovoltaic technology. Energy from the sun is a renewable energy source whose availability is endless. To be able to get electrical energy coming from the sun is needed solar cell, so that light energy from the sun can turn into electrical energy. In the selection of the right solar cell capacity should be calculated the load requirement, in order to get more accurate results for loads to be installed, where the highest total load requirement is 293 Watt, then the corresponding component is a solar cell with 50 Wp battery capacity, 50 Ah, BCR 12 Volt-10 A and 300-500 Watt inverter.
