Abstract

Bengkalis State Polytechnic is one of the customers connected to the three-phase four-wire line. The imbalance of electrical load in the three-phase four-wire system in the Bengkalis State Polytechnic electrical building occurs at all times. This load imbalance results in losses for the flow of neutral currents in the system. In terms of the economic losses incurred this harms the Bengkalis State Polytechnic as a customer because these losses are still counted as electricity usage rates. Utilization of neutral current losses is done by changing the AC voltage from the neutral point and grounding into DC voltage and increasing the voltage using a boost converter to turn on 10 LED units. After testing for one week it was proven that neutral current losses could be used to power 10 LED units with the power generated at 0.0834 Watt. The amount of electrical power that can be utilized depends on the amount of losses due to load imbalances that occur at any time. Generally the high level of losses occur on weekdays this shows the number of loads that are operated during working hours, causing a large load imbalance in each phase. The biggest losses occurred on Wednesday at 9:00 WIB which is 1.0528 Watt with power that can be utilized on the load side of 0.0828 Watt.
