Abstract

A solenoid is a coil made of long, tightly wound cables, based on the faraday law that reads when flux changes, there will be an electromotive force that is proportional to the rate of flux change. Flux changes occur when there is a magnet that exits and enters the solenoid. The number of red LEDs used is different based on the ability of the generator to turn on the LED. Solenoids were used as many as 2 pieces with 3100 windings each and using neodymium magnets. At 300 RPM the generator is able to produce a voltage of 0.9 VAC. At 700 RPM the generator can produce a voltage of 4 VAC. The load used is 100 LED lights. At 300 RPM the generator is only able to light 10 LEDs with a current flowing at 43 mA, while at 700 RPM the generator is only able to light 100 LED lamps with a current of 1760 mA.
