Abstract

An important factor in the growth of oil palm seedlings, one of which is the water content in the soil. Excessive water content causes plants to rot, too little water can cause stunted growth. For this reason, a prototype tool is designed that monitors Android-based watering. The prototype will function when turned on with the switch button and is powered by a voltage of 5 v. The prototype will display the sensor value first. Sensor values can be seen on the LCD and Blynk platform smartphones connected via a Wifi network. The range for sensor values is >75% wet conditions, 60-74% normal conditions and <60% dry conditions. Furthermore, the water pump will turn on if the soil conditions are dry and the pump will turn off when the soil conditions are normal or wet. The first testing stage is testing the prototype for 1 month with a humidity value range between 54-78% in the morning and humidity values between 52-78% in the afternoon. further testing is carried out in the field with an output value range of 57-72% in the morning and evening between 58-78%. The last stage is testing the comparison of sensor values using soil moisture and a 3 in 1 soil meter. The result of the largest comparison error is 0.06% and the smallest is 0%.
