Abstract

Under over voltage is a decrease or increase in voltage from the specified limit for more than 1 minute. The cause of under voltage is due to poor system wiring and excessive load on the system, while the cause of over voltage is the tap setting on the transformer that is not suitable and the loading is less on the system. The working system of the tool in general is when the incoming voltage condition is not normal, whether the voltage goes up or the voltage drops from the normal voltage beyond the time that has been set on the relay, then the relay contacts will work from the normally closed (NC) position to normally open (NO) and the system will stop. This study uses a phase failure relay (PFR) type TOMPD-8S with an average response time of under voltage of 3.4 % and an average response time over of 6.47 % for 1 phase and 3 phase electrical Voltage s and loads. 3 phase motor load when the under voltage is varied from 370 V to 330 V the motor rotation speed is 2985 RPM and the over voltage is from 390 V to 420 V the motor rotation speed is 2987 RPM. The rotation speed of the motor is relatively constant because it does not regulate the frequency and uses a Dahlander motor load.
