Abstract

The availability of wood on the island of Bengkalis is starting to decrease due to the widespread use of wood the continously. Therefore, the price of wood becomes expensive, so alternative supporting materials are needed to minimize the use of wood in the construction of fishing boats. Ampel bamboo material is relatively cheap and is not considered as an important material, because people's understanding of the use of the material is limited. Whereas ampel bamboo has composite characteristics that are harder than wood, so it can be used as an alternative material for supporting fishing boats. Ampel bamboo which is processed using the principle of laminated gluing connection using crossbond glue in the Bending Test to see the strength of the connection in the Bending Test of the laminated ampel bamboo connection with horizontal variant with longitudinal arrangement of experience and vertical variant with transverse gluing arrangement.
