Abstract

Young coconut is a fruit that has many nutrients and is much in demand by consumers, so it can be a business opportunity for the community, especially the Bengkalis area. Each product will always experience stripping innovation in order to attract more buyers. However, the work process is still done manually and inefficiently. Based on the results of observations, it was found that there were complaints from traders, namely the risk of injury due to sharp objects, difficulty in making neat products, pain in the shoulders, hands and back. Minimizing the risk of work accidents when cutting young coconut skin, Knowing the ability of young coconut skin cutting tools in the cutting process, Calculating the time for cutting young coconut skin. This machine uses an electric motor with a power of 0.5 Hp as the driving motor. This tool does not directly hold the cutting blade for the young coconut cutting process. From the test results, this tool can speed up the cutting time of the young coconut skin and produce a neater cut. This tool cuts the young coconut skin with neat results in 42 seconds.
