Abstract

This study aims to analyze the existing conditions, hydraulic capacity, and effectiveness of the drainage network in Rimbas Sekampung Urban Village, Bengkalis District. The research was conducted through field surveys, measurements of channel dimensions and elevations, mapping using ArcGIS, and hydraulic analysis employing Manning's method with a concrete roughness coefficient of n=0.013. The results indicate that the studied drainage network has a total length of 425.7 m, with an average channel width of 82.2 cm and a depth of 75.0 cm. Discharge capacity varies across segments; the capacity at Jalan Utama is 0.666 m³/s with a flow velocity of 1.154 m/s, while the highest capacity is found at Gang Kebun Kapas II Kiri at 0.9189 m³/s with a flow velocity of 1.714 m/s. The total flow travel time within the network is 56.84 minutes (3,410.25 seconds). The analysis also reveals issues such as channel bed slopes that are excessively shallow or even negative in several branch channels—potentially causing backwater effects—as well as sections lacking permanent channels and the presence of sedimentation and debris. Based on these findings, improvements are required regarding channel bed slopes, the construction of channels in currently unserved sections, capacity upgrades for critical segments, and routine maintenance to enhance the drainage system's performance Drainage.
