Abstract

In general, bending roll is used to bend an object in the form of metal. In this study, the metal in question is a sheet plate with three variations, namely 1 mm, 2 mm, and 3 mm. In previous studies, there were already manual roll bending tools, but they could not work effectively. This study aims to simplify the plate bending process, using an automatic roll banding machine. From the modification results, the size of this tool is 75 cm long, 50 cm wide, 85 cm overall height, and is equipped with 3 rolls each measuring 75 cm long for the middle roll, and 80 cm for the right/left roll, with 2 inch roll diameter. This tool can work using an electric motor with a capacity of 1400 rpm or 1 HP. Optimally, this tool is able to bend sheet plates with sizes of 1 mm, 2 mm and 3 mm. Fiber can form a circle of at least 19 inches.
