Abstract

The inverter functions to change the DC voltage to AC voltage. DC voltage sources that can be used are various, such as batteries (AKI), solar cells, and power supply which are direct current sources. Especially the power supply which is a rectifier circuit that can be used as a DC voltage source which is converted to AC voltage by using a voltage converter circuit called an inverter. In operation the inverter requires a gate drive circuit. Gate drive is a circuit that is used to turn on and off semiconductor switches such as IGBT or MOSFET. The switch on the inverter is divided into two parts, namely the top and bottom side switches. The design of this single-phase DC to AC inverter uses the full brige type inverter method, where the TL494CN IC as a frequency wave generator, and the center tap transformer as the voltage increase. The real design result is the frequency produced by the square wave inverter with the resulting frequency of 64.9Hz, and the voltage generated when no load with a brige rectifier source of 14.02 Volt DC of 228 Volt AC, from the results of testing the tool is able to turn on the load in the form of lights 9 watts and 40 watt solder.
