Abstract

The most commonly used transportation route is to use the highway as a infrastructure. On the highway all land transportation mixed, ranging from private cars, motorcycles, buses, trucks, bicycles to tricycles. Transportation with a variety of different types is what causes the traffic rules (traffic light), such as the rules of the direction of traffic flow, signs, to parking. The problem that often occurs at an intersection is traffic jams. This tool is designed to overcome the density of vehicles that occur in four ways, by using 3 types of control, namely if there is a buildup of vehicles at the intersection, then the traffic light is controlled for a long time, if the vehicle is not too dense, the traffic light will work normally and if there are no vehicles or quiet then traffic light is controlled to be fast. In the final test, the delay for solid conditions from red light to green light was 59.9 seconds on average. Whereas for moderate conditions the delay from the red light to the green light is on average 47 seconds, and for the quiet condition the delay of the red light to the green light is on average 43.25 seconds.
