Abstract

Noise comes from the operation of large-capacity diesel engines used as Diesel Power Plants (PLTD) in Bengkalis. Noise is an unwanted sound that can interfere the health and comfort of the environment. People living around the area of Diesel Power Plant (PLTD) is the component that is exposed the noise directly. This study aims to analyze the average noise level generated by Bengkalis PLTD to the surrounding area. The measurement of noise level is done for one week, measurement starts from 09.00-21.00 wib every an hour for one measurement. The results showed that the highest average noise level occurred at 20.00 wib that is 95.42 dB (A), while the lowest average noise level occurred at 10.00 wib that is 78,95 dB (A), The highest average level of noise occurred on Sunday that is 93.26 dB (A), while the lowest average noise level occurred on Wednesday 82.58 dB(A).
