Abstract

A motorcycle is a vehicle driven by a machine. On a motorcycle there is a very part for mixing fuel and air when the engine is still cold and when the engine is in the low rotation, the carburetor. Inside the carburetor there are parts that are very important for combustion of fuel and air that is playing jet and pilot motorcycle jet pad. So this study was conducted to determine the efficiency of the jet pilot diameter variation and play jet on the 110cc Jupiter Z motor. This test uses a manual tool that is with a measuring cup and at the travel time using a stopwatch. In this study, three variations of pilot jet size and main jet were carried out with a pilot jet size of 0.175 mm in diameter, 0.20 mm in diameter, 0.225 mm diamter and on the main jet size of 0.105 mm in diameter, 0.110 mm in diameter, 0.120 mm in diameter. The distance used is 1.5 km. The results of testing with pilot jet size and main jet diameter 0.175 mm and dimeter 0.105 mm fuel consumption 80% less than the pilot jet diameter 0.20 mm, diameter 0.225 mm and on the main jet diameter 0.110 mm, diameter 0.120 mm. At a faster mileage using the pilot jet size and main jet, the diameter is 0.225 mm and the diameter is 0.120 mm, the larger the size of the jet pilot and the main jet, the greater the speed obtained from variations in jet pilot size and main jet. From the research that has been done, it is obtained efficiency for fuel consumption in jet pilots and main jet variations in diameter size 0.175 mm and diameter of 0.105 mm because of the results of the research that the authors tested on Jupiter Z 110cc motorcycles that is 80% more efficient in fuel consumption.
