Abstract

The process of diesel power plants (PLTD) in the operation of large-capacity diesel engines has the potential to cause noise. Noise is a sound that is not desired in space and time which gives a disturbance that has the potential to affect health and the operator. Operators that operate power plants and people who live close to noise sources are environmental components that are directly affected by noise. This study aims to analyze the level of noise in the generating engine of the operator's hearing. The research method used was data collection conducted at 5 measurement points with time from 08.00, 12.00 and 16.00. Research results show that the noise received by machine operators has exceeded the threshold value (NAB) according to the Regulation of the Minister of Health No. 70 Th.2016 concerning health standards and requirements for industrial work environment. From measurements and overall data, it can be seen that the noise level of the generating engine has disrupted the work and hearing activity of the operator against the noise of the generator engine has been severely disrupted so that it can cause physiological disturbances such as feeling uncomfortable and hearing loss.
