Abstract

Paving block is a building material product made from a mixture of cement, aggregate and water which is used as an alternative cover or hardening of the ground surface. Considering that the use of paving blocks is quite extensive, it is necessary to have alternative substitute materials that can reduce the use of natural materials due to the development of an increasingly age. One alternative to reduce the use of natural materials in meeting the needs of construction materials is to utilize plastic waste and rice husk as a substitute for making paving blocks. From the experiments it can be concluded that a good composition among these compositions is the composition of 70% rice husk and 30% plastic with compressive strength of 1,389.48 N / cm2. The composition of 70% rice husk and 30% plastic is better than other compositions, because the compressive strength value of the composition is the highest compared to other compositions.
