Abstract

Desalination is a separation process that is used to reduce the dissolved salt content of salt water to a certain level so that pure water and water can be used by all living things. The simplest method is to heat the water to a boil and take the steam as a result, but it must require a furnace that requires fuel, whether conventional fuels such as wood or electric fuel, it will add a large expenditure. And the amount is too little for can be consumed not worth the expenditure. A more modern method is to filter seawater through high pressure pipes, so that the filtered water no longer contains salt. Because it uses high technology that is expensive, this technology cannot be applied to island and coastal communities which are generally economically difficult. This study was conducted to determine the intensity of water that can be produced from the comparison of the angle of the slope of the 20o and 30o collector glass with the desalination process using solar radiation as a source of heat to get separated saltwater and fresh water with the desalination process
