Abstract
Japanese language has gained significant popularity among the Indonesian community. According to a survey by The Japan Foundation in 2020, Indonesia is ranked second in the world for having the largest number of Japanese language enthusiasts, with China being the first. However, there is a scarcity of learning materials and resources, especially for beginners. Many beginners encounter difficulties in finding appropriate learning materials for their level, resulting in errors and obstacles during the learning process. To address these challenges, a "Learn Japanese Characters and Vocabulary Level N5 Website-Based Learning App" has been developed. This app provides learning materials for Japanese language beginners at the N5 level, including Japanese characters such as Hiragana, Katakana, Kanji, and vocabulary, all accompanied by images and audio. Additionally, the app features quiz questions in the form of multiple-choice options. The introduction of this application aims to assist aspiring Japanese language learners, particularly beginners, in obtaining relevant learning materials and resources. Through the utilization of the Black Box method during the research, the functionality of the website was meticulously examined. As a result, the "Learn Japanese Characters and Vocabulary Level N5 Website-Based Learning App" works effectively on various devices and web browsers.
