Abstract
The role of safety and health equipment for workers is very supportive as a mitigation of work accidents for workers, at Tanjung Buton Port, Siak Regency prioritizes occupational safety and health by implementing mandatory rules on the use of personal protective equipment. The purpose of this study was to determine the behavior of workers towards occupational safety and health in palm shell loading and unloading operations, to find out the implementation of occupational safety and health for palm shell loading and unloading operational workers, and to find out mitigation to minimize accidents against unloading workers. loading palm shells at the Port of Tanjung Buton, Siak Regency. The source of the data obtained is by directly observing and conducting interviews and distributing questionnaires to loading and unloading workers. The method used is a descriptive method, the author tries to observe cases that often occur at the port, then makes important notes on personal protective equipment that workers do not use. The results of the research are that the behavior of the loading and unloading workforce and the implementation of safety carried out are classified as good, because the workforce follows procedures and uses personal protective equipment according to applicable regulations, as well as the efforts of the Port Business Entity and the superiors of the workforce have also provided safety and security measures. standard personal protective equipment.
