Abstract

The cassava and potato chips business is a business area with great potential to improve the economy of home-based entrepreneurs. As for cassava and potato chip entrepreneurs, they still use cassava slicers in a manual way, so that home-based entrepreneurs have a very long time to cut cassava and potatoes and also have risks of danger such as injured fingers when cutting cassava and potatoes manually. This semi-automatic driving machine for cutting cassava and potatoes with an electric motor is an alternative solution for chip manufacturers to increase their productivity in producing cassava and potato chips in an easy way, in a very short time and there is no risk of danger because it has safety in the cutting section and uses a spring to push cassava and potatoes. This cassava and potato cutting machine has a very short cutting speed, namely cassava weighing 6 kg cuts in 240 seconds and cutting cassava weighing 6 kg cuts in 130 seconds. With the several advantages of working with this machine, employers can complete cuts in a short time, and prevent the risk of work accidents. So that employers can feel very helpful in completing their work very well. Keywords : Cutting machine, spring, semi automatic.
