Abstract
This study aims to analyze the characteristics of fluid flow in a centrifugal pump system using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD). The analysis focuses on the distribution of velocity, pressure, and energy loss (head loss) at operating pressures of 10 bar, 15 bar, and 20 bar. The simulation was performed using CFD software based on the design parameters of the Kewpump KS-SE3 pump. The results show a direct relationship between increased operating pressure and flow velocity, discharge, and higher head loss. At 10 bar, the head loss reached 96.34 m with a discharge of 0.0604 m³/s, while at 20 bar, the head loss increased to 192.69 m with a discharge of 0.0869 m³/s. The dominant velocity distribution is at the center of the pipe, while a significant pressure drop occurs at the outlet due to wall friction. This study concludes that CFD is an effective method for evaluating centrifugal pump performance and provides detailed insights into hydrodynamic phenomena in the system, which can be used as a reference for pump design and operational optimization.
