Abstract

Biology education, especially material on human organs, often faces obstacles in visualizing abstract concepts and complex anatomical structures. The use of conventional media such as textbooks and two-dimensional images is considered less interactive and difficult to provide students with a real spatial understanding. This study aims to develop interactive learning media based on Augmented Reality (AR) on human organ material for 11th grade students at MAN 1 Bengkalis. This application was developed using Unity Game Engine and Vuforia SDK by applying the Multimedia Development Life Cycle (MDLC) system development method, which consists of six stages: Concept, Design, Material Collecting, Assembly, Testing, and Distribution. This application visualizes human organ objects in 3D form that can be accessed through Android mobile devices. System testing was conducted using Black Box Testing for functionality, AR performance testing (distance, light, rotation), and learning effectiveness testing using the One Group Pretest-Posttest Design method. The Black Box testing results showed that all application features worked as designed. The effectiveness testing results showed a significant improvement in student learning outcomes, with an N-Gain score of 0.72, which is classified as high. Thus, this Augmented Reality-based learning media has been proven to be feasible and effective for improving learning outcomes.
