Abstract

The selection of Bujang Dara is an annual agenda of the Bengkalis Regency Government aimed at selecting young individuals who possess a balanced combination of appearance, cultural insight, personality, and communication skills. However, the current assessment process is still conducted manually, which poses a high risk of calculation errors and subjectivity that can influence the final decision. This research aims to design and develop a web-based Decision Support System (DSS) to enhance objectivity and transparency in the selection process. The system implements the Multi-Factor Evaluation Process (MFEP) method as a decision-making approach through a weighting mechanism for each assessment criterion. The system development used the Rapid Application Development (RAD) method and was implemented using the PHP programming language with the Laravel framework. The results of the study indicate that the application of the MFEP method is capable of accelerating the score accumulation process and generating accurate participant rankings from the initial selection stages to the final round. Based on Black Box Testing, the system is declared to function according to functional requirements and is able to minimize human error in determining winners systematically.
