Abstract

The development of information technology has encouraged businesses to utilize web-based systems to improve sales efficiency and expand product marketing. However, pepai shrimp sales in Prapat Tunggal Village, Bengkalis Regency, are still conducted manually, resulting in various obstacles, such as poorly structured transaction recording, limited marketing reach, and the potential for transaction data loss. Furthermore, user data security is a crucial aspect that needs to be considered in web-based sales systems. This study aims to design and build a web-based pepai shrimp sales application that can simplify transaction management, prepare business reports, expand marketing reach, and improve user data protection. The research stages include needs analysis, system design, implementation, and application testing. The developed system is equipped with features for managing product data, sales transactions, financial reports, and authentication security mechanisms by applying the bcrypt algorithm to the password hash process. The results of the study indicate that the developed application can help business owners manage sales more effectively and in a structured manner, make it easier for buyers to obtain product information and make transactions, and improve user data security.
