Abstract
Water level control is one of the important aspects in various industrial and household applications to maintain the stability of the water level in a tank. This research aims to design and implement a water level control system using the Proportional-Integral-Derivative (PID) method based on Arduino Uno. The system consists of a water level sensor as an input, Arduino Uno as a controller, and a water pump that is controlled through a driver or relay as an actuator. The PID algorithm is used to adjust the system response speed so that the water level can be maintained at the setpoint value with the minimum possible error. The process of determining PID parameters is carried out through the tuning process to obtain a constant value that produces a fast, stable system response, and has a low overshoot. The test results show that the implementation of PID control is able to increase the stability of the water level compared to the control system without PID. The designed system is able to maintain the water level close to the setpoint even if there is a disturbance or change in water discharge. Thus, the use of the Arduino Uno-based PID method can be an effective, simple, and economical solution for a water level control system
