Abstract

The development of Internet of Things (IoT) technology has significantly contributed to improving efficiency and effectiveness in poultry farming management, particularly in monitoring environmental conditions and feeding systems. This final project aims to design and develop an IoT-based chicken coop monitoring system capable of monitoring coop temperature as well as feed availability and weight in real time. The theoretical foundation includes concepts of automation systems, microcontrollers, monitoring, and IoT implementation in the livestock sector, supported by relevant previous studies. The research method applied is a design and experimental approach, which includes hardware and software design, system assembly, and performance testing. Data collection is conducted through a DHT11 sensor for temperature and humidity measurement, an HC-SR04 ultrasonic sensor for detecting feed level, and a load cell for measuring feed weight, all controlled by an ESP32 microcontroller and connected to the Blynk IoT platform. The design results indicate that the system operates properly, is well integrated, and is capable of displaying real-time data through both an LCD and a monitoring application. In conclusion, the IoT-based chicken coop monitoring system can assist farmers in improving management efficiency and reducing dependence on manual monitoring processes.
